Windows Server complains about licensing, even though it has already been licensed. What to do?
Solution
Go to “Settings → System → About”. Please find the “Troubleshoot” option below the server licence. Clicking on this option will trigger an automatic fix that will resolve the problem.

All virtual desktop devices are turned on, but in the NEXI Board main screen the thumbnails keep appearing and/or disappearing. How do I fix it?
Solution
This is mostly a network issue. Please check all network devices in the ICT room – the router, switch, and cabling. You might need to restart the router or switch. Make sure all network cables are correctly connected.

The NEO virtual desktop device is unable to log in, but the credentials are all correct. What shall I do?
Solution
Disconnect all cables from the NEO virtual desktop device, plug them back in and turn the unit on. If the login screen appears and you still can’t log in, contact NEXINEO IT Support and describe your findings.

Windows Server doesn’t seem to be connected to the internet. How to proceed?
Solution
It might be a conflict between the IP address of the internet proxy filter and the server’s actual IP address. Check the internet proxy filter settings and compare it to the IPv4 server address settings of the network adapter. The value must be the same.

How to Fix User Profile Service Failed to Sign in on Windows?
Solution
One of the most likely reasons is a running antivirus program. Try to deactivate it and connect again. Please see more information here: https://theitbros.com/user-profile-service-failed-the-sign-in/

It’s not possible to log in to all NEO virtual desktop devices. How to fix it?
Solution
Unplug the router and switch and plug them back in. Try to log in again. If that doesn't help, please check if the internet connection is available on the server. If the internet connection is available, the switch might be faulty. If it's not, then the router might be faulty. Please contact NEXINEO IT Support and describe your findings.

The NEO virtual desktop device is showing only a black screen. What can be the cause?
Solution
  • Make sure the unit is visible in the NEXI Board management console. If so, the cabling might be faulty or not connected correctly. Make sure that all cables (especially the HDMI cable) are plugged in correctly.
  • If the cabling is OK, swap the monitor for a working one. If you see the image, there’s a fault in the monitor. If not, the unit might be faulty. Please contact NEXINEO IT Support and describe your findings.
  • If the unit is not visible in the NEXI Board Management Console, check the cabling. Swap the cable for a working one. Please contact NEXINEO IT Support and describe your findings.
Offline Microsoft products like Teams, Skype, Skype for Business or Microsoft 365 don’t seem to work. Why is that?

The system generally doesn't work. What to do?
Solution
Check that all hardware components like the server, switch, router, NEO virtual desktop devices and monitors are powered on and all the cabling is correct. You should be able to log into the server. Check the front panel of the switch and router, the LEDs should be blinking. There should be a login screen displayed on every monitor.

While using some video conference web applications, I don’t seem to know what webcam to choose if there are more of them connected to the NEXI GO system. Why is that?
Solution
In general, isolation of the webcams in the NEXI GO system is still a ‘work in progress’ and once it’s finished and successfully tested it will be announced and delivered as part of the solution.

Having odd issues with the task bar/random task bar freezing on Windows Server 2022?
Solution
First of all, export the registry path

HKLM\SYSTEM\Software\Microsoft\TIP\TestResults\27641370

and look at the file size. If it's around 40MB or more in size, then you have the same issue.

To resolve the issue, delete the key mentioned above and disable the TabletInputService service (Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service). Afterwards, take ownership of

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ink\TabTip32.exe

and

C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ink\TabTip.exe

and rename both executables to TabTip32.exe.orig and TabTip.exe.orig.

After that, reboot your server.

Once the system has been joined to the domain, some calls or actions seem to be slowed down or don’t seem to work at all. How shall we proceed?
Solution
Having the integration scenario, when the NEXI system joins the customer’s domain, the local domain administrator should be contacted. NEXI systems have been tested in local domains, functionality in cloud and/or hybrid domains is not guaranteed.

Some graphics applications that demand very high power don’t seem to work correctly on the NEXI GO system. What can be the cause?
Solution
There are two systems available at the moment - NEXI GO (mostly suitable for standard office applications) and NEXI GO Performance (suitable for Autodesk, YouTube, Google Earth, GeoGebra, Tinkercad, etc...). Some applications, designed mostly for the final video cut or detailed rendering processes, are not suitable for use on these systems.

What should I do if the system has no internet/network connection?
Solution
Even though all NEO virtual desktop devices and server cabling and ethernet components seem to be correctly connected, there is generally no internet or connection.

Antivirus can also block the connection to the server. For example, if you have Eset Endpoint Security installed, you need to set a learning mode in the firewall settings. Make sure the server and NEO virtual desktop devices are on the same subnet, and the default IP addresses start with 192.168.X.Y, where X must match.

Is it possible to back up the Windows server in order to preserve the system, applications and data?
Solution
Yes, one of the options is to open Administrative Tools and run the Windows server Backup tool. It’s possible to create a local backup - back up important files, applications or the entire server on a locally attached device or a network share. There is also an online backup option - back up server to Azure
